Blighted Biomes
A dark and dangerous corruption known as the blight has been spotted throughout the world, taking over biomes and turning them into something new! Blighted Biomes consumed by a dangerous force that many players won't be prepared to face. If you manage to find one, choose your next moves wisely!
Blighted Badlands
The Badlands were the first to fall to the blight, and have become a home for a variety of new blocks, dangerous mobs, and so much more.
As our most dangerous biome yet, you'd best come prepared for the entities that lie inside! Get to know these challenging new monsters:
- Mangler: Full of rage and a lunge that can kill, the Mangler packs a punch.
- Grim: The Grim is capable of shooting flame from their unhinged jaws as they circle around you. Be careful as you kill them, they tend to hop away and retreat!
- Phantom: The Phantom returns exclusively to blighted biomes, looking larger and more threatening than before. Even the skies aren't safe.
- Ashen Golem: Solid as a rock, this earth-style golem blends into the surrounding terrain jumps out when you least expect it, and has a jump slam that will shake your world.
Arenas
At the center of a Blighted Biome is a danger like no other! Arenas are protected by the curse of the blight making them indestructible, so getting to the top won't be easy. You must navigate through a dangerous path of challenges, obstacles, and waves of mobs continually spawned by Blight Spawners!
At the peak of an arena lies a portal into a brand-new boss battle! Simply jump inside and be transported to a danger like no other, make sure you are prepared as there is no turning back!
Life Wisps
On your way up, you'll notice Life Wisps flying around an arena! For every wisp you kill before entering the portal, your party will gain an additional life within the boss fight!
Lives within the fight are consumed as a group, so if one of your party dies, they will survive and respawn instantly in the battle!
Boss Battles
Beyond the entrance portal, a new challenge awaits. Test your fate in a battle against brand-new bosses unlike anything seen in Minecraft before! Come prepared for a tough fight, and expect the worst!
Life Light
Once you defeat a boss for the first time, it will drop a Life Light which is a new boss-exclusive unlock, giving you access to a permanent additional heart!
As more bosses are released, earning Life Lights will play a crucial role in progressing to future and more difficult challenges.
Loot
Whilst playing as a party certainly makes the boss fight easier, it also means sharing rewards at the end too! To keep things fair, your party will take turns selecting from the final loot drops, based on who dealt the most damage in the fight.
Blight Essence
Blighted mobs will drop an item called "Blight Essence" which can be used to turn normal blocks into their blighted variants. In a crafting table, surround a Blight Essence with 8 of a regular block to receive 8 of the blighted block.
